This is just a reminder that even the profit-making manufacturers give the advice that anyone who has or is at risk of having glaucoma (high fluid pressure in the eye) or pre-existing damage to cardiac muscle, should never take statins of any kind. This is because the drug increases fluid pressure in the eye destroying peripheral vision and/or produces all the symptoms of congestive heart failure. On withdrawal of the statins cardiac symptoms can dissipate, regrettably any vision damage is permanent.
