Heart Disease and Smoking

by Ayzle
(Ukiah,Ca. Mendocino)

Even though smoking is very bad for the heart and I have already had a heart attack and several TIAs it is still something I fight every day. And I lose the battle often. I changed my diet and exercise and though I know my risk of dying this is something I am having trouble with.

I often ask myself why would I slip and do something so bad for me. Yet sometimes I give in to the smoke and then feel really bad about myself because I am so weak in this area. It’s been 3 years since my heart attack and I know I still need to watch it or death will be my fate. Yet sometimes I just can't fight anymore.

Smoking is one of the hardest things to quit. It's rated right up there with herion as something to quit. So hang in there and never give up. Keep trying and you will make it. Gail
