Alternative, vegetal high-source of Omega 3

Omega-3 is commonly associated with fish oils, but there's a new buzz about a plant-based alternative, high source of Omega-3 called Sacha Inchi.

Sacha Inchi, also known as the "Inca-Peanut", is a perennial plant native to the Amazon Rainforest, where it has been cultivated by indigenous people for centuries. In recent years, Sacha Inchi Oil has received international recognition because of its high content of essential fatty acids, providing remarkable health benefits.

The Sacha Inchi nut is cold pressed to extract its rich oils containing the appropriate balanced amount of essential fatty acids: Omega 3, Alpha Linolenic Acid (48%) , Omega 6, Linoleic Acid (36%) It also contains antioxidants of Vitamin A and Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) and full of high quality proteins. Sufficient to improve one's general health.

Scientific research has found that Sacha Inchi Oil is one of the best sources of Omega 3, known to lower "bad" LDL cholesterol levels and triglycerides, raise "good" HDL cholesterol, strengthen the central nervous and cardiovascular systems. It also has been associated with allieviating symptoms of depression and bi-polar disorder.

I'm sorry, but your blurb sounded just like all the other ads on the internet promoting superfoods...

Let's face it - we're all confused unless we are trained naturopaths, an MD that actually understands nutrition, or a nutritionist that has more training than just learning how to paint a sign for the door - I'm not impressed with modern dietitions.

Just eat healthy, eat in moderation, reduce meat, increase legumes/pulses, increase vegetables to about 8-10 cups a day, increase berry consumption, eat lots of apples and decrease starches like white rice, noodles, etc.

I have oatmeal every morning, 1/2 cup with 1/2 cup almond milk - unsweetened, 1 cup mixed berries, 4 TB hemp hearts OR Salba hispanica, a sprinkling of flax. If I want it a bit sweeter - I add blue agave, or pure honey - never more than 1 tsp.

I eat a huge salad for lunch with nuts or seeds, I eat lentils or fish for dinner with tons of veggies - steamed - and a very small amount of carbs - if any.

I am almost 60 and have never been healthier - gone off blood pressure meds, cholesterol is exremely good, sleep really well and lost 30 pounds.

I minimize fat in cooking - even the good fats, and no longer eat any eggs or dairy products other than kefir (4 TB daily).

It takes time, but once you start eating like this - there is no turning back. I DO NOT buy packaged food - that's half the problem in North America - the crap the companies make and our governments approve. I also take a very good source of CQ10 daily.
