There is a Health Revolution Going On

It obviously hasn’t touched everybody. But it is happening. You can see it in grocery stores that are adding whole sections just for organic and non-genetically altered foods. People are thinking about food allergies and other negative influences in their diets.

More doctors and nurses are taking an increased interest in nutrition than before. People are trying to educate themselves on how lifestyle choices have degraded their health and how lifestyle changes can restore them to better health than they have known in years.

Health coaches are at the forefront of today’s health revolution. They are often the first contact many people have with this revolution. And health coaches are the partners that walk through your health journey with you… preparing you to walk on your own and even help others you love.

Health coaching – also referred to as wellness coaching – is a process that facilitates healthy, sustainable behavior changes by guiding, challenging, and supporting a person committed to creating a better life.

Unlike fad diets and calorie counting – attempts that usually end in failure – health coaches help instill within their clients life changing habits that become just that… habits.

The Institute for Integrative Nutrition defines a health coach as… 

A wellness authority and supportive mentor who motivates individuals to cultivate positive health choices. Health coaches educate and support clients to achieve their health goals through lifestyle and behavior adjustments.

So that is what a health coach is. So here is the question…

Has the health revolution touched you?

Health Coaches Get to See Lives Change Before Our Eyes

It is the greatest feeling to see people have their health restored to them after the better part of their life being lived in frustration. To see obese people restored to a healthy weight is an experience like no other. Seeing others drag themselves through life until they make a decision to begin living again is a great joy.

To see unfortunate folks saddled to a life of expensive medications for diabetes and heart disease finally able to live without those medications.

These are the experiences that make health coaching such a pleasure.

So about a few stories? Real people whose lives have been transformed after beginning their journey with a health coach. People who have reached their goals – or are well on their way – changing one habit at a time.

My friend Jamala just recently celebrated her 35th birthday and has more to celebrate than ever before! Jamala lost 26 pounds and several inches in a very short time. Even more than that, she's broken her addiction to sweets, emotional eating, and binge eating, changing her health and outlook on life!

This is my friend Joanne! Joanne only had a 10 pound weight loss goal and she lost 11 pounds in 2 months! Now 10 pounds might not seem like a lot to most people but I want you to look at the difference in her body! Her body was hard at work for 2 months burning pure fat. You also can't tell from the pictures but her entire life has changed because she went from being exhausted, tired and wanting to stay in bed, to feeling full of energy and able to do fun activities with her teen boys!

April says it in her own words just seven months after making a decision to change her life…

I wanted to take a moment to share how I believe God is using health coaching in my life to encourage you. I started my journey May 22nd and I’m down 52lbs! That’s amazing in itself.  But I’m a nurse and it’s in my blood to help others feel better. Coaching gives me a satisfaction and so much motivation to maintain my own progress. I have clients coming off meds, shopping in the “normal” sizes, and crossing their legs without holding it there! LOL!

Brandie is a hard working RN and before program had a hard time finding something that could fit into her busy night shift schedule that didn't control her life trying to lose weight. She has lost 80 pounds in 6 months! She is beaming with confidence now and her smile lights up a room! Her energy is through the roof so she can spend more time with her daughter doing things they love together! Nothing in her closet fits so she's enjoying some cute new outfits she could never wear before!
